Introduction/Release notes ----------------------------------------- Turbocraft, Inc. has created a time-saving array of products for users of Opto 22's FactoryFloor® suite of software. StarterKit is a collection of OptoControl charts in export format, and a "boilerplate" project called Project_Template. The charts can be imported into your existing strategy. Project_Template is intended to be used as a time-saving starting point for a new project. --Charts The charts in StarterKit are in export format and can be im- ported into your OptoControl strategy - thus saving you the time of having to write them. Version 3.1c or later of FactoryFloor® is required in order to import these charts. The charts consist of commonly required tasks that will benefit most automation projects. The charts are as follows: -Com_Sub_Timer This chart performs a test that calculates the approximate execution time for an OptoControl command, or a subroutine. -CRC This chart performs a periodic CRC check on the strategy. If the CRC has changed, an error flag is set. -Error_Handler This chart checks for and records controller errors. When a controller error is detected the chart sets an error flag that can be used in an alarm routine. This chart provides the facility to step through and record controller errors one at a time through a user interface, or step through and record them automatically. In addition there is a flag that can be set to simulate and record a controller error, for testing purposes. -Import_Additions Importing this chart into your OptoControl strategy will add some useful variables and engineering constants. After this chart has been imported, it can be deleted, and the variables and constants will remain in the strategy - thus saving you the time to type them in one-at-a-time. -Scan_Time This chart calculates the approximate time required to go one com- plete round-robin through all of the currently active priorities (tasks). In other words it is the appx. time required for all the currently running tasks to use their allotted number of time slices once. This is not the same as the scan time for a PLC. It is also not the time required for each chart to execute completely. -Scroller Scrolls text to the left across a string variable. Intended to be used for scrolling text in a display or operator interface. -Time_and_Date Intended for retrieving time and date for display in an operator interface. Also has an elapsed timer (ET) that is intended to be controlled from an operator interface. Also provides Year, Month, Day_of_month, Day_of_week, Hours, Minutes, and Seconds variables. -Time_and_Date_with_DST Intended for retrieving time and date for display in an operator interface. Also has an elapsed timer (ET) that is intended to be controlled from an operator interface. This chart provides for automatic daylight savings/standard time adjustment. When the automatic daylight savings adjustment is enabled the clock is advanced one hour on the first Sunday in April at 2 am, and set back one hour on the last Sunday in October at 2 am. The automatic feature can be turned on or off. There is also pro- vision for manually advancing the clock 1 hour, or setting it back 1 hour. Also provides Year, Month, Day_of_month, Day_of_week, Hours, Minutes, and Seconds variables. NOTE: The controller and this chart must be running on the first Sunday in April at 2 am, and the last Sunday in October at 2 am in order for the automatic daylight savings adjustment to be performed. If this is not the case, then no adjustment will be made. --Project_Template Project_Template can be used as a time saving starting point for most of your Opto 22 FactoryFloor® automation projects. Project_Template consists of an OptoControl Strategy and an OptoDisplay project. Simply open the two in FactoryFloor® 3.1d or later and then save them in your own project directory. You will then need to configure your controller and I/O and you will have started a project that already contains the functionality of seven charts, and an OptoDisplay project with display and control graphics linked to them. The charts are as follows: Com_Sub_Timer CRC Error_Handler Host_Priority Reboot Scan_Time Time_and_Date_with_DST Release Notes: Version 1.0 First release I.
